About Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, or "yogic sleep", is a guided meditation tradition that aims to create a state of consciousness between alertness and sleep in order to quiet the mind and relax.

 

It includes components like body scans, guided imagery, visualization, breath awareness, and intention setting as the practitioner embarks on a journey through the layers of one's self. These layers are also known as the koshas.

Yoga Nidra has numerous mental, physical and emotional benefits.

 

Some of which include improved quality of sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, headache relief, increased focus and resilience, improved digestion, blood pressure, immune function, and blood sugar, enhanced cognitive functioning, and reduced insomnia.

Sara Johnson 

Sara is a yoga and meditation teacher devoted to creating spaces where individuals can soften, reconnect, and feel fully supported. Her work centers on deep rest, nervous system repair, and helping students release the invisible mental load they carry each day... whether that's a high-functioning woman balancing many roles or a child learning how to regulate big emotions.

 

With a background as a Pre-K through adult classroom educator, Sara brings warmth, structure, and compassion into every space she teaches. She is committed to fostering welcoming, inclusive environments where students can feel safe enough to rest, explore, and grow- regardless of age, experience, or ability.

Through yoga nidra, meditation, and mindful movement, she helps both children and adults build resilience, self-awareness, and inner confidence without pressure to perform or achieve. Her approach honors each individual's strengths and needs, encouraging the powerful realization of "I am enough" just as I am.

Sara is trained in Divine Sleep ® Yoga Nidra, Children's Yoga Foundations, and enrolled in RYT 200 YTT. She participates in ongoing professional development and certification programs in Chair Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness.
